Tim Ward

Cabinet making, built-in furniture, carving and antique furniture restoration

A Brief History of Tim Ward

About

In 1985, while on holiday in Wales with the family, my parents visited a woodcarver and my Dad persuaded me to meet him. At the time he was carving a cormorant and from that day my passion for wood began. When I returned home, I started to make some basic relief carvings, bought a lathe and progressed to make small items. When I left school in 1987, I was offered an apprenticeship with Brights of Nettlebed. I learned cabinet making and French polishing to an exceedingly high standard. From there, I moved on to work for an antique furniture restorer, to gain more experience. In 1996 the opportunity came for me to start my own business in Tiverton, Devon where I have worked for the last twenty-four years. Today I make bespoke furniture to your specific requirements, free standing or built in, including:
• Dressers
• Bookcases
• Shelving
• Dining tables
• Chairs
• Office furniture
I also specialise in joinery projects to include doors, windows, of unusual shape or size.

• Inlaying
• Veneering
• Leather insets

I also offer 1 and 2 day courses which you can find out more about here.
